Columbia and Jefferson City, as well as the rest of Boone County, are heading into this year's Memorial Day Weekend with a huge advantage. The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) is once again joining with Operation CARE, the program specifically designed to reduce the numbers of car crashes on our nation's highways, particularly during national holiday weekends.
The Jefferson City Auto Accident Lawyers at Aaron Sachs & Associates, P.C. salute this effort at making Missouri's roads safer and attempting to keep this holiday weekend a joyful one for everyone. Unfortunately, last year during the Memorial Day holidays, a total of six people died and 440 were injured in Missouri alone. This was the sad result of a staggering 1,010 auto accidents!
Columbia and Jefferson City drivers: Jefferson City Car Crash Lawyers challenge you to lower those Columbia auto accident figures this year. Here are the recommendations of the Missouri Highway Patrol:
1. As always, BUCKLE UP FOR SAFETY. Studies have repeatedly shown safety belt use saves lives.
2. NEVER DRIVE or PILOT A BOAT under the influence of alcohol or any other drug. If you will be drinking, don't be driving!
3. If you are going out boating on one of Missouri's many beautiful lakes--ALWAYS WEAR A LIFE JACKET!
Let's not forget the purpose of Memorial Day--to salute and remember all the brave citizens who have fought to protect our precious freedom. We thought you might enjoy this Memorial Day Tribute...
If you are driving this Memorial Day, you will have all available MSHP officers out on the roads with you. They will be on the alert for any signs of aggressive or impaired driving, lack of seat belt or child safety seats, and last but not least--the main cause of traffic accidents--speeding.
Columbia Missouri Personal Injury Lawyers give a big "shout out" to our Highway Patrol for their efforts at reducing car crashes each holiday weekend. We call on all Boone County residents to do their part as well by driving responsibly.
