Mathew attended Northwest Arkansas Community College where he obtained his paralegal degree and certification. From there, he transferred to the University of Arkansas where he studied political science and criminology. He transferred to Missouri State University where he obtained a Criminology degree with political science and a plant science minor. While attending MSU he also attended Ozark Technical Community college where he obtained an associate's in criminal justice.
In his spare time, he plays ice hockey, collects old video games, and plays guitar.
