About

I was born and raised in a small town in Iowa and have an older brother and a huge extended family. After graduating from college, I started working as a social worker for adults with mental illness. I did that for about 3 years and decided I needed a change, so I moved to the Ft. Lauderdale, FL area where I began working for the Seminole Tribe of Florida headquarters in their legal department. During my 8 years in South Florida, I traveled a bunch, met some great people, and met and married my husband. We ultimately decided to move back to Iowa where my family still lives, but realized the cold wasn't for us. About 5 years later my husband got a job in the Atlanta area, so we moved again and bought our house shortly after. I've gotten more into gardening and plants/flowers since and occasionally restore wood furniture. My husband and I love to try new food/restaurants wherever we are, but given his Cuban background, that's always our go-to. I still try and make it back to Iowa as often as possible to hang out with my three nephews and visit as much family as possible.
