Helmets Save Lives

Studies show that wearing a properly fitting bicycle safety helmet may reduce brain injuries by as much as 88%. However, in order for a helmet to be effective, it must be sized and adjusted for a correct fit. Aaron Sachs & Associates has been fitting safety helmets for more than 10 years, and has distributed more than 18,000 helmets.

Head injuries are the primary cause for about 80% of bicycling fatalities. Although helmets are proven to make a significant difference in child safety by preventing or mitigating brain injuries, in most communities, fewer than 5% of children wear bicycle helmets. Safely constructed helmets can reduce the risk of injury by 85 percent.

Child Helmet Public Service Announcements

Over the past ten years, the firm has teamed up with several other charitable organizations and schools to promote helmet safety. Aaron Sachs himself is a member of the Brain Injury Association of Missouri and has participated in making public service announcements about bicycle safety and child safety helmets.
