| How do I know if the adjuster's offer is fair? |
|
It is standard practice for insurance adjusters to begin negotiations by first offering a very low settlement amount. With this tactic, the adjuster is trying to find out whether you understand what your claim is worth. You are entitled to money damages for medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering. Depending upon the severity of your injuries, you may also be entitled to receive compensation for future pain and suffering, loss of income, and loss of earning capacity. The adjuster is working for the insurance company, not for you. Since you will live with the results of your settlement for your lifetime, don’t sign a release until you have talked with an experienced personal injury lawyer. Don’t allow yourself to be a victim twice. Make sure you get the money you deserve. |
