Helmets Save Lives

Studies show that wearing a properly fitting bicycle safety helmet may reduce brain injuries by as much as 88%.  However, in order for a helmet to be effective, it must be sized and adjusted for a correct fit. Aaron Sachs & Associates has been fitting safety helmets for more than 10 years, and has distributed more than 17,000 helmets.

Head injuries are the primary cause for about 80% of bicycling fatalities. Although helmets are proven to make a significant difference in child safety by preventing or mitigating brain injuries, in most communities, fewer than 5% of children wear bicycle helmets. Safely constructed helmets can reduce the risk of injury by 85 percent.
