Main Causes of Traumatic Brain Injuries In Missouri

Missouri personal injury lawyers are all too well aware that traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a serious public health problem in Missouri and the rest of the nation. On average, approximately 1.7 million people are victims of a traumatic brain injury each year.

These traumatic injuries are caused by some sort of blow or jolt to the head, or a penetrating head injury. These injuries disrupt the normal function of the brain with tragic consequences ranging from memory loss and personality changes, to permanent total disability.

The vast majority of TBIs that we see in our personal injury law practice are due to motor vehicle accident trauma, including truck accidents, motorcycle accidents, and plain old car crashes.

In the case of traffic accidents, the main things you can do to prevent TBI are wear a helmet when riding a bike or motorcycle, and buckle up!

However, there are other causes of TBI that we would like to educate you about.
