Help for Missouri Side Impact Accident Victims

Side impact Accidents
A side impact collision - also known as a side angle crash, broadside crash, or T-Bone accident - occurs when one vehicle crashes into the side of another vehicle (in contrast to a rear end or front end collision). Next to head on collisions, side impact accident are the second most deadly kind of accident; and have a high percentage of serious injuries and fatalities. This is largely because the sides of most vehicles don't have nearly the protection that the front and rear do - though a few cars now come with side impact airbags. Even so, compared to having a trunk or hood between you and the other car, being hit from the side leaves the car's occupants largely unprotected. The other reason side impact crashes can do serious damage is because they often happen at fairly high speeds, for example from someone running a red light at an intersection or failing to stop at a stop sign.
Side Impact Accident Injuries
Even if no one is killed in a side impact crash, there are often serious -- and sometimes lasting -- injuries. Broken or crushed bones, deep lacerations, organ damage, brain injury, soft tissue damage, spinal injury, and paraplegia or quadriplegia can result. A side to side (rather than front to back) form of whiplash is common in a side impact accident. This can adversely affect the whole body, the spine and neck, and the brain which can be shaken inside the skill causing brain damage from the impact. If a larger vehicle, such as a commercial truck, pickup truck, SUV, van or bus hits a smaller vehicle, such as a regular passenger car, the results can be particularly catastrophic. Unfortunately, if the side impact accident happens at a high rate of speed and the vehicle is hit broadside, people are often killed. This is the type of crash in which one vehicle hits the other at a right angle, making a T-shape, hence the name T-Bone accident.
Protect Your Rights
If you or someone you love have been injured or killed in a Missouri side impact accident, and the accident was not your fault, you may have certain rights to recover compensation for injuries, property damage, missed work, medical bills, brain injury, disability and death. Aaron Sachs and Associates' side impact accident attorneys can help protect your rights in the event of a Missouri side impact accident.
Attorneys and insurance adjusters for the at-fault party may try to get you to waive (give up) your rights or to make an unfair settlement. Please keep in mind that insurance adjusters and attorneys for the other party in a side impact accident do not have your best interests at heart. Therefore, it is very important that, in the event of a side impact accident, your interests are represented and your rights are protected.
The Effects of a Side impact Accident
A serious side impact accident can turn your life upside down in a split second. What if it happened to you? Would you know what to do if you were involved in a Missouri side impact accident or a Missouri T-Bone accident? Who would you call for legal assistance and who would be on your side? Who will pay for medical bills and any prescriptions, therapy, rehab, extended treatments, or expensive equipment? What if you don't yet know the long term effects or long term needs of the accident victim? Who will pay for the damage to your vehicle or to replace the vehicle? What about missed work? What should you say to the insurance people if they call? What if there is permanent disability, brain injury or the worst of all tragedies, a death? Would you know what to do? Where do you start and how do you handle it all? These are the questions that Aaron Sachs and Associates' lawyers often hear from side impact accident victims and their families.
