Elijah J.L. Haahr - Attorney
Elijah currently represents Springfield as the State Representative for
the 134th district. He has represented clients successfully in state circuit
court, administrative law hearings, and federal district court. He has
also appeared and argued successfully before the Missouri Southern District
Court of Appeals. Elijah focuses his practice on civil litigation and
workers’ compensation. He is licensed to practice law in Missouri
Elijah attended the University of Missouri School of Law on academic scholarship
and graduated with honors in 2008. At MU, he served as Editor in Chief
of the Environmental Law Review and represented MU at the regional level
in Mock Trial and Moot Court competitions. Upon graduation, he was awarded
the Order of Barristers as one of the top 10 oral advocates in his graduating class.
Prior to law school, Elijah grew up in southwest Missouri. He attended
Ozarks Technical Community College and was a member of the National Dean’s
List and Phi Theta Kappa. After graduating from OTC with honors in 2002,
Elijah received an academic scholarship to attend Missouri Western State
University. He served as MWSU’s Student Body President, received
two bachelor’s degrees, and was a member of the Honor’s Program.
He graduated Cum Laude in 2005.
Elijah lives in Springfield with his wife and four children. He was named
one of 417’s 20 under 30 in 2010 and to the Springfield Business
Journal’s 40 under 40 in 2013. He was selected as Ozarks Technical
Community College’s Alumni of the Year in 2015. He was also awarded
the “Rising Star” designation by Super Lawyers® in 2015.
